INDONESIA NEEDS 6% GROWTH TO BECOME A DEVELOPED COUNTRY BEFORE 2045


JAKARTA, Java Crime - The Minister for National Development Planning said that 2022 is expected to be the first year for Indonesia to begin to escape the pressure of the Covid-19 pandemic and is a key year for consolidating economic recovery.

This was conveyed in the 1st Session of the Musrenbangnas, which was an opening and briefing by the Indonesian President at the State Palace, on this occasion the Minister attended and gave the 2022 RKP Draft Report and the report on the implementation of the Governor Coordination Meeting and the 2021 Musrenbangprov.

Indonesia needs an average growth of 6 percent to bring Indonesia to become a developed country and escape the middle income trap before 2045.

In realizing this economic growth, Indonesia's challenge is not only the National Economic Recovery, but also the Economic Transformation in the medium and long term that must be carried out from now on.

"This economic transformation is carried out through 2 main strategies, namely changing the structure of the economy from lower productivity to higher productivity sectors and increasing productivity in each sector," said the Minister.

The Minister conveyed that the 2022 RKP carries the theme Economic Recovery and Structural Reform. And in realizing this theme, the 2022 RKP is supported by 7 National Priorities.

Economic recovery, supported by structural reforms that include: reform of the national health system, reform of the social protection system, and reform of education and skills. Economic recovery is carried out through 2 main strategies, namely recovery of purchasing power and business and economic diversification.

Apart from conveying the theme of RKP for 2022, the Minister also said that the Ministry of National Development Planning / Bappenas is again holding regional development awards to the Regional Government with the best development planning, achievements and innovations.

The 2021 Regional Development Award is given to the 3 best provinces, 3 best districts and 3 best cities, as well as special awards for regions with alternative financing innovations for the provision of basic service infrastructure, and Green and Low Carbon Economy awards.
The three best provinces were won by Bengkulu, West Java and West Sumatra, while the three best districts were won by Hulu Sungai Selatan, Banggai, and Bangka Regency. And for category 3 the best cities were won by Bandung, Padang and Semarang.(*Red)
